Cheryl Boone Isaacs has been re-elected as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Boone Isaacs is the first African American president of the Academy, and due to internal limits, she won’t be eligible for re-election again when her one-year term ends.
The newer, more diverse academy has been implemented after a second year of #OscarsSoWhite controversy over another all-white set of nominees.
The decision comes after a set of changes to the Academy to increase diversity.
