Christian Bale thanked Satan during his acceptance speech for best actor in a comedy or musical film at the Golden Globes.
The 44-year-old actor, who won the prestigious award for playing Dick Cheney in the biopic Vice, said: “Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration for playing this role.”
The other big winner on the evening was Bohemian Rhapsody, which took best drama and best actor in a drama for Rami Malek.
While Vice went into the evening as the most-nominated film at the Golden Globes, the biopic failed to grab the award for best film – musical or comedy, which instead went to Green Book.
