Still, at least in New York, a $9 ticket is almost 50% off the regular price, which almost justifies signing up for a dork like me who goes to the movies constantly.

In this case, that does not include unlimited movies (or one a day every day) like MoviePass; $9 gets you just one ticket per month, although if you don’t use the ticket, it does roll over to the following month.
(Of course, there are no Cinemarks in New York City, so this really doesn’t help me at all unless I feel like driving out of state to want to watch The Snowman.)
