Comic-Con: Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and Guardians 3 Confirmed! Today at the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, it was officially announced that a slew of sequels are officially in development at Marvel Studios including Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The first Guardians of the Galaxy was the surprise hit of the second phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, grossing nearly $775 million at the box office and earning widespread critical acclaim for its abundance of humor, emotional story and Gunn’s direction, in addition to its soundtrack becoming the first album of its genre consisting of previously released songs to top the Billboard 200 chart and having sold over 2.5 million copies in 2014 alone.
Black Panther debuted in 2018 to the tune of $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office and became the first Marvel Studios movie to win an Academy Award, taking home three of the coveted prizes.
Black Panther arrived in February of 2018 with Chadwick Boseman in the titular role.
The film also starred Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Annette Bening, and Jude Law.
