The animated series was announced almost exactly one year prior to the sequel’s release in May 2017.
The news of FX cancelling the series came in March, which was two months before Deadpool 2, the sequel to the super-successful 2016 film that launched the character back into newfound relevancy, was set to hit theaters in May.
