Based on William Gibson’s 1984 cyberpunk novel (the first of the “Sprawl” trilogy) of the same name, Neuromancer follows an expert computer hacker named Case who finds himself hired by a mysterious benefactor to pull off a seemingly impossible job — hacking an AI in orbit above Earth.
The story is a quintessential piece of science fiction, and has become widely credited with coining the now ubiquitous term “cyberspace.”
Although numerous fanboys were upset when they learned that Tim Miller wouldn’t return to the Deadpool universe, the fact that he is filling his time with an adaptation of Neuromancer is an enticing consolation prize.
