According to Deadline, Academy Award winner Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Ready Player One) and Emmy winner Michael Chiklis (The Shield) have been tapped to join the star-studded ensemble cast of Adam McKay’s upcoming Netflix film Don’t Look Up.
Written and directed by McKay (Vice, The Big Short), Don’t Look Up will center on two low-level astronomers who have to embark on a media tour around the globe in an effort to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that is going to destroy Earth.
This marks Rylance’s latest project with the streamer following his recent appearance in The Trial of the Chicago 7.
The 52-year-old filmmaker will produce the project alongside partner Kevin Messick via their productions banner Hyperobject Industries.
