The reviews of Dunkirk – the latest film from director Christopher Nolan – have flooded in overnight with many praising the intense WWII thriller as his masterpiece.
Going by the early Dunkirk consensus, Nolan hasn’t simply done it again but has outdone himself with: after 40 reviews, the film has a staggering Rotten Tomatoes score of 98% – his highest yet.
Whichever way you fall down on the work of Christopher Nolan, there’s no denying he’s one of the most exciting filmmakers working today.
Now, this could be liable to change as more reviews come in, but it’s hard to see it dipping below the filmmaker’s second placed film, The Dark Knight (2008).
