The second Emmy Awards telecast of this year delivered 6.87 million total viewers, ABC announced on Monday, marking a three-year high for the annual awards show.
(The September 2022 Emmys had drawn just 5.92 million viewers opposite the most-watched Monday Night Football game since 2009.)
The last time the Emmys built audience was in 2021, when CBS’ Cedric the Entertainer-hosted ceremony drew 7.4 million viewers, up 16% from 2020 and hitting the brakes on a seven-year decline.
Fox‘s Jan. 15 broadcast of the strikes-delayed 75th Primetime Emmy Awards had averaged 4.5 million viewers, down 24% from the September 2022 ceremony to mark an all-time audience low for TV’s starriest night.
