An image of two teenage boys suspended in a murky ocean opens the trailer for Breath, the new film adaptation of Tim Winton’s Miles Franklin award-winning novel, featuring Richard Roxburgh, Elizabeth Debicki and Rachael Blake.
Breath premiered earlier this year at the Toronto International Film festival and is due for release in Australian cinemas on 3 May 2018.
Breath is Baker’s feature film directorial debut, and also stars Samson Coulter as Pikelet and Ben Spence as Loonie, with The Great Gatsby’s Elizabeth Debicki taking the role of Sando’s wife, Eva.
“As a parent I think you go through a rite of passage as well when your kids start to look at you in a different way,” Baker said.
