While DWTS was not Bergeron’s only hosting gig throughout his run on the series (some will remember his 14-year job on America’s Funniest Home Videos), this one was his most memorable, as it made viewers want to tune in for something other than the dancing, with some of Bergeron’s commentary with Erin Andrews and the judges being another enjoyable part of the series.
Judge Cheryl Burke, however, felt hurt when she found out Bergeron was getting replaced.
DWTS alum Derek Hough spoke out about Tom Bergeron’s departure last summer and said it made sense that the producers would want to change things up since the series has been going on for so long, and Bergeron had been hosting since the show’s beginning.
