NBC and Universal TV set up a co-licensing deal allowing Netflix to distribute Good Girls outside of North America at the cost of a significant fee.
Ratings aren’t everything, of course, and Good Girls’ future at NBC will make everyone a good deal of money, thanks to a lucrative Netflix deal.
Netflix has done this with other shows in the past, but Good Girls is the first from the big four broadcast networks to do something like this.
The deal, which will ultimately benefit the show’s producer, Universal TV, still benefits the NBC family as a whole and could be the key to keeping big network shows with smaller fanbases alive for longer and also help the series gain new fans between seasons.
