The original sports comedy was co-written by frequent Seth Rogen cohorts Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg, and managed to become something of a sleeper hit with general audiences.
Now an official release date and poster for the sequel have been revealed.
Following the generally positive critical reception that met the first film in the series, Goon: The Last of the Enforcers has been in the works since 2015, with most of the original cast and characters returning and Baruchel taking his first turn in the director’s chair.
Slated to feature Doug “The Thug” Glatt and many of his supporting players from the Halifax Highlanders – plus a few new faces – the sequel to the 2011 original sports comedy should offer fans eager for more bone breaking hockey action plenty very soon.
