This isn’t a knock on Roland Emmerich, but rather a note that the man has a particular style.
It’s that style that Moonfall is clearly operating within the parameters of, and to be honest, it’s kind of comforting.
It’s a concept that’s arriving at the right time, both in terms of the box office calendar, as well as the recent wave of blockbuster action that Berry has been riding.
Every now and then, the Earth needs to be knocked down a peg in a movie such as this, so that Halle Berry can stand up, glare at the Moon in the most heroic way possible, and help save humanity.
