Han Solo's 'Star Wars' Spinoff Begins Filming With a Nod to Who Shot First

As of today, filming has officially begun on Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s young Han Solo movie, Lucasfilm’s next Star Wars Story standalone project.

Cinematographer Bradford Young, who previously shot Arrival and Selma, is the DP on the untitled Han Solo film, which was written by veteran Star Wars scribe Lawrence Kasdan.

As was previously reported, the production codename for the Han Solo spinoff is Red Cup — you know, because those plastic red cups are Solo cups.
