The Democratic National Convention continues tonight with a lineup of speakers that includes former President Bill Clinton and the mothers of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Dontré Hamilton, Jordan Davis, Michael Brown, Hadiya Pendleton and Sandra Bland.
It was South Dakota’s 15 votes that pushed Clinton past the 2,382-delegate threshold needed to win the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
No matter your political stripe, the fact is that history was made on Tuesday evening when Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic nomination for President of the United States and thus became the first woman from a major political party to do so.
Clinton, with VP pick Tom Klaine, is thus set to run against the Republican party’s Donald Trump/Mike Pence ticket, with the first presidential debate set for Monday, Sept. 26.
