To catch you up, Home Improvement writer-producers Matt Williams, Carmen Finestra, Tam O’Shanter, and David McFadzean and Wind Dancer Production Group filed a lawsuit against Disney in 2013.
The suit also claims Disney sold Home Improvement into syndication in New York “for no monetary consideration” and failed to consult with the plaintiffs about how the show would be exploited.
They allege — among other things — that they haven’t been paid their fair share of profits, claiming they are entitled to 75 percent of the net profits from the show, which generated $1.5 billion for Disney.
