The sequel debuted to an estimated $44.1 million for the three-day weekend ($45.376 million including Amazon Prime showings) at the domestic box office.
Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation opened this weekend and took control of the worldwide box office.
The film fared slightly better internationally, bringing in $40.4 million from 57 different territories, and giving it a $65.9 million worldwide opening weekend.
Internationally the film brought in an additional $54.8 million, giving it a worldwide total of $100 million.
