Despite looking it like A Wrinkle in Time will do okay at the box office, reviews for the movie haven’t been as kind, as it currently ranks at 42% among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, while Metacritic has it scored at 53.
Plus, A Wrinkle in Time has already made a name for itself due to the fact that by being hired to direct it, Ava DuVernay is the first woman of color to helm a live action movie with a budget exceeding $100 million.
That being said, as we’ve seen many times over the years (I’m looking at you, Suicide Squad and the Transformers series), just because a movie doesn’t have a great critical reception doesn’t mean it can’t rake in a sizable amount of money.
