Jigsaw debuts on the heels the unexpectedly successful Happy Death Day, and this year has already seen a wave of horror blockbusters in the form of Get Out, Annabelle: Creation and (perhaps most notably) the record-breaking release of IT.
Now, all we need is a crossover that pairs Jigsaw up with Pennywise the Dancing Clown and we will be all set.
People are clearly into all things spooky this year, so Jigsaw fits in nicely.
If Jigsaw manages to hold strong and pull off these respectable numbers in its opening weekend, then it may also reaffirm the fact that horror is having a serious moment in 2017.
