Arrow led to The Flash, which led to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and would eventually tie in to Supergirl, as well as two animated series on CW Seed.
To go big — and small — simultaneously, Neely did something surprising: he sat in a dark room and stared at pictures.
The Flash was, in a way, more difficult than the Arrow theme, because the composer had been seeped in the darkness of Star City for so long.
“We talked a lot about making it grounded, and emotional, but [it] also was always going to be very dark,” Neely recalls.
