Many fans have assumed that Mark Hamill meant that Star Wars: Episode VIII will be Luke Skywalker’s last movie.
We know even less about Star Wars: Episode IX, except that Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) is set to direct.
We know that Star Wars 8 will begin directly where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off, with Rey (Daisy Ridley) meeting Luke Skywalker on the remote planet of Ahch-To, where he has been hiding in exile at an ancient Jedi temple.
We know there is still plenty of filming left on Star Wars: Episode VIII, with director Rian Johnson revealing at the end of April that they had passed the half-way mark of production.
