Speaking to Variety, Skarsgård said: “There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise].
Pennywise actor Bill Skarsgård has revealed how director Andres Muschetti decided to leave the scene out of the film which is currently breaking box office records around the world.
The [flashback] scene hints on that.”
“It’s… sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from,” the actor added.
