ITV’s News at Ten is becoming ITV News at Ten Thirty as the channel pushes back the fact-based show for an entertainment programme described as a ‘cross between James Corden’s Late, Late Show and Saturday Night Takeaway’.
An ITV spokesperson told The Independent: “We are looking at an entertainment show for the new year, more details will be confirmed in due course, including scheduling.
Currently, the ITV news bulletin brings in, on average, 1.8 million viewers compared to 4.2 million who watch the BBC’s.
If a hit with viewers, ITV hopes to make the show a permanent feature.
