Upon its release, Spectre was heralded as one of the best James Bond films to date, various publications awarding Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as 007 five stars. The film’s stand-out moment was the opening scene in which Bond casually strolls through a Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City before, changing into a suit and pursuing his targets.
Despite the utterly ridiculous helicopter fight, perhaps the most unbelievable part of the entire scene was a Day of the Dead parade even happening in Mexico City, because no such procession has ever taken place in the city before.
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday, celebrated throughout the country, in which friends and family gather to remember those the have lost.
