The film also marks the second in-development reunion for Bateman and Perez, with the latter penning the script for an untitled family action comedy at Netflix that the former will direct and produce and John Cena (Bumblebee) is set to star in.
In addition to directing the film, Bateman is also attached to produce the project via his Aggregate Films banner alongside David Kanter and Joff Okin of Anonymous Content.
With Ozark nearing its end at Netflix, star/producer/director Jason Bateman is looking to keep his upcoming slate full as he has signed on to help adapt Gus Krieger’s recently released Superworld, reuniting with Game Night scribe Mark Perez for the project at Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The script for the forthcoming adaptation will be penned by Perez, who wrote the script for he 2018 sleeper hit Game Night which starred and was produced by Bateman and featured an ensemble cast including Rachel McAdams (Wedding Crashers) and LaMorne Morris.
