The Coen brothers are not involved in the upcoming movie but have given Turturro their blessing on the project.
Written and directed by Turturro, the movie also serves as a remake for the 1974 movie Going Places from Bertrand Blier.
I look forward to working with Screen Media and bring our work and the character of the Jesus to American audiences,” said Turturro.
The Big Lebowski debuted in 1998 and was written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Turturro’s Jesus character appeared in a couple of scenes in the movie, which starred Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi.
