According to the Daily Mirror, a close friend has stated West wants comedy actor Will Ferrell to star and has even approved the project on one condition; that it’s a complete send-up.
The source goes on to suggest that West even knows which director he wants with his first choice being Ferrell’s frequent collaborator, Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers, The Other Guys).
This wouldn’t be the first time West has worked with McKay following a fleeting cameo in Anchorman 2 in which the rapper played the head of MTV in the film’s trademark celebrity-filled battle scene.
The source said: “Rather than take himself too seriously, he feels it has to be a comedy and not a preachy film.”
