According to Deadline, 13 Reasons Why director Karen Moncrieff has been tapped to helm the upcoming drama film adaptation of author Alice Sebold’s best-selling memoir titled Lucky which centers on the aftermath of Sebold’s horrific sexual assault.
The project will be produced by James Brown (Still Alice) with filming scheduled to begin in the fall.
The film adaptation was also penned by Moncrieff with Skywolf Media’s Lisa Wolofsky and Fortitude’s Nadine de Barros set to executive produce and fully finance the film.
Sebold is best known for her best-selling and critically-acclaimed 2002 novel The Lovely Bones which was adapted into film by director Peter Jackson.
