The film adaptation will focus on the stories from the books, but the television series will expand the world beyond what Rothfuss has written.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s adaptation of the popular book franchise The Kingkiller Chronicle has found a very unexpected showrunner in John Rodgers, best known for Leverage, The Librarians and The Player.
Rodgers will executive-produce and write the pilot for the television arm of the adaptation, Variety reports.
Author Patrick Rothfuss and Robert Lawrence (Die Hard with a Vengeance) will also serve as producers on both arms of the Kingkiller Chronicle adaptation, which will be developed by Lionsgate.
