Leslie Charleson, General Hospital’s Dr. Monica Quartermaine, Dead at 79

General Hospital has lost its longest-serving cast member: Leslie Charleson, who had played Dr. Monica Quartermaine since 1977, has died at the age of 79.

Even while appearing on General Hospital, Charleson continued to guest in primetime occasionally on series such as Friends and Dharma & Greg.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Leslie Charleson,” he wrote.
