The actors played lustful teenagers in Gerwig’s directorial debut Lady Bird, and will play doomed lovers once again as Jo (Ronan) and Laurie (Chalamet) in the adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel.
Saoirse Ronan has discussed her excitement at being able to break Timothée Chalamet’s heart, as the duo embark on a romantic storyline once again in Greta Gerwig‘s upcoming film adaptation of Little Women.
“I loved that in Lady Bird, he was the one that broke my heart, but I got to break his heart in Little Women,” she said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Emma Watson, Meryl Streep and Laura Dern will also star in Little Women, which is due out in January 2020.
