The fifth series of Luther has proven a rating success for the BBC, as the finale attracted 4.6 million viewers and won its Friday night (4 January) slot.
The premiere of Luther’s fifth series had also been a success, being the most-watched TV show on New Year’s Day, beating the Doctor Who special.
Billy Connolly: Made In Scotland, on BBC Two, was seen by 2.2 million viewers and The Big Fat Quiz Of Everything on Channel 4 had 1.7 million.
The episode beat Jeremy Clarkson’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on ITV, which notched up 3.7 million, including catch-up.
