Night Shyamalan is writing a new draft of Glass, and he revealed his current progress over on Twitter.
Then he wrote that he was letting them “messy up the plot” however they like.
In draft #3 of Glass, the director “looked through the character’s eyes” this time around, which probably means that he went inside his character’s head to better decide what they should do in the plot.
I suppose that can be taken to mean he’s trying to have them make decisions based on emotion rather than plot, no matter how poor those decisions may be.
