Two years after Studio 8 acquired the rights to Rob Liefeld’s Image Comics character Prophet, the studio has found the man to pen the film adaptation in the form of Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow co-developer Marc Guggenheim, according to Deadline.
Along with co-developing Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow for The Cw, Guggenheim is also known for helping craft the story and screenplay for 2011’s Green Lantern and penning the script for 2013’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
The film is set to be produced by Adrian Askarieh (Hitman: Agent 47), Brooklyn Weaver (Run All Night) and Deadpool creator Liefeld, with John Hyde and Terissa Kelton also attached in some producing capacities.
The studio’s hopes is to build a franchise around the titular character who is a DNA-enhanced super soldier placed into a cryogenic freeze for a future mission only to awaken prematurely in the present and searching for a mission that does not a exist, therefore seeking to find his humanity.
