Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill will return in next year’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, and fans will briefly see him sooner in a trailer for the film early next year. He didn’t appear in Rogue One, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t interested in the movie and how it plays as part in the bigger picture.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is enjoying a hugely successful weekend, raking in millions at the box office during its first few days of release and projecting massive numbers of people who want to see the film on the big screen.
Whenever a movie from the Star Wars world is released, it feels more like an event than perhaps any other franchise in the movie industry and Rogue One is already inspiring brand new ideas for anthology releases in the same vein moving forward.
Hamill may be expected to praise those behind the film no matter what as he’s still an integral part of the Star Wars universe, but if he genuinely didn’t like Rogue One, he likely wouldn’t have spoken up at all.
