He brings together heroes from across time to assemble the Thundercops in an attempt to take down the evil Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler – but the group falls apart when one of their own dies.
Heavily inspired by the shlocky, ridiculous action films of the 1980s, Kung Fury is set in an alternate version of 1985 where a hero named Kung Fury keeps the city of Miami safe from hyper-violent forces.
It is after this tragedy that a new villain emerges with plans to attain an ultimate weapon, leaving Kung Fury no choice but to go on another time-hopping adventure in order to save the day.
News of the casting comes from Deadline, which adds that the movie will serve as a sequel to the original YouTube hit – but doesn’t mention what role Michael Fassbender will be playing in the film.
