GKIDS announced that it has acquired the North American distribution rights for the 1990 animated series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and will be delivering the anime on home video later this year.
“While attending the fair, teenaged inventor Jean meets Nadia, a mysterious girl who possesses a highly sought-after crystal called Blue Water.
The series was created by NHK, Toho, and Korad, and also stemmed from a concept from the legendary director and animator Hayao Miyazaki.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion), the sci-fi adventure anime will get a home video release based on a new 4K restoration of the film.
