The National Lampoon name may not mean for comedy what it used to, but that didn’t stop Douglas Tirola from diving deep into history with documentary feature Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead will be developed and produced with 4th Row Films, with no network yet attached.
Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead originally premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, chronicling early times of the magazine, which was created from an Ivy League school by Douglas Kenney and Henry Beard.
A+E Studios have begun looking into potential showrunners for the drama, while you can watch the original documentary trailer below.
