The Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and Issa Rae (Insecure)-led romantic comedy The Lovebirds was one of the unfortunate casualties in Paramount’s calendar shuffling amidst global coronavirus concerns and now it appears that in a deal between Netflix and the studio, as well as production company Media Rights Capital, it will be heading to the streaming service, according to Deadline.
The movie is directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) and written by Aaron Abrams (The Go-Getters) and Brendan Gall (Blindspot, The Go-Getters) from a story by Martin Gero.
The Lovebirds is set to debut on Netflix, although at this time no release date is currently set.
A couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery.
