Netflix has placed an eight-episode series order to Grendel, a series based on the iconic Dark Horse comic book series, according to a recent report from Deadline.
The order is the result of Netflix’s first-look deal with Dark Horse Entertainment, which has already produced the hit series The Umbrella Academy, among other series.
The comic series debuted in 1982 and continues to run to this day, with various spinoffs having been formed from the original book.
Grendal tells the story of successful author Hunter Rose, who by night works as Grendel, an assassin that will seek to avenge the loss of a loved one that takes him through a battle against New York’s criminal underworld.
