Based on the award-winning play, “The Audience,” the series reunites creator/writer Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) with director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) and producer Andy Harries (The Queen).
The series tells the inside story of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, as the fragile social order established after the Second World War breaks apart.
Now, EW is reporting that Netflix’s Olivia Colman-led award-winning historical drama has been able to successfully wrap production a few days earlier than it was scheduled.
The production company and Netflix chose to keep production rolling for one more week on the fourth season of the series because they needed to tie up some loose threads before heading into full post-production.
