Lawrence Kasdan is a screenwriter who has worked on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens, and the writer was recruited as the co-writer of Solo: Star Wars Story.
The Star Wars veteran wrote the movie with his son, Jon Kasdan, and the two used their deep knowledge of the character to pen his origin.
It was a no-brainer decision to bring in a writer who worked closely on the original trilogy to craft a movie about a younger Han Solo, one of the most popular of all the Star Wars characters.
Pretty much all of Han’s younger days has remained a mystery (to those that didn’t read the Legends books at least), so who better to provide an origin story than Kasdan?
