Sharon Choi, the Korean-American filmmaker who charmed audiences by translating Parasite director Bong Joon Ho’s speeches during Sunday’s Oscar’s ceremony, has written a film.
Choi, 25, was next to Bong throughout the evening, as he collected awards for Best Director, Best International Film and Best Original Screenplay.
Talking after the ceremony, in which his film sensationally won Best Picture, Bong said: “You already know [Sharon Choi’s] a filmmaker.
It was the first time a non-English language feature has won Best Picture, and Parasite boasts the first ever Oscar win for a South Korean film.
