Alan Taylor’s Terminator: Genisys was a dud with audiences and critics when it was released back in 2015, though it tried valiantly to take the series in a different direction.
In a recent interview on The Production Meeting Podcast, co-writer Patrick Lussier revealed where he planned on taking the sequels.
He also argued that Genisys was introducing new characters who would have gone in a completely different direction in the follow up films.
Directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) Terminator: Genisys brought back Arnold Schwarzenegger as an older Terminator, joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Byung Hun Lee and Matt Smith.
