Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest untitled feature is moving from Focus Features to MGM, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with the latter in talks to pick up the project reportedly due to a “budgetary issue.” Anderson’s untitled coming-of-age drama is set in the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s.
Anderson is an eight-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker whose credits include Phantom Thread, Inherent Vice, There Will Be Blood, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, The Master, and Punch-Drunk Love.
