Brian O’Connor was one of the Fast And Furious series’ main characters, appearing in all but The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift up to Furious 7’s release.
Following Paul Walker’s death, the creative team decided to retire Brian from the franchise rather than kill him off.
In Furious 7’s final minutes, Brian was seen playing with his wife, Mia Toretto, and his son, Jack, on a beach, but when Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto silently left, Brian caught up with him in his car so they could have one last drive together.
Even before Paul Walker’s death, Furious 7 was meant to show Brian struggling with being a father, but the movie’s original ending was set up so that he could keep adventuring with his car-loving allies while balancing his family life.
