Spanish actress Paz Vega (Spanglish, The Spirit, Kill the Messenger) has signed on to star alongside Sylvester Stallone in director Adrian Grunberg’s upcoming film Rambo 5: Last Blood, which is the latest installment to the iconic action film franchise, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
Stallone last played the role of John Rambo in 2008’s Rambo, which earned $113.2 million worldwide on a $50 million budget.
The film is directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) with Matt Cirulnick (Absentia) writing the screenplay for Rambo 5 (previously rumored to be titled Rambo: Last Blood), which Avi Lerner and Kevin King will produce.
Rambo 5, finds John Rambo coping with intense PTSD while living on a ranch in Arizona, trying to pick up casual work wherever he can.
