Lionsgate is launching what could become a lucrative new young adult franchise for the studio in 2017 with Power Rangers: a big screen reboot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers property that launched Saban Entertainment’s larger Power Rangers brand over two decades ago.
These helmet designs, which were on display at the International Comic-Con this past summer, are certainly more practical (and protective) in appearance than the cheaper-looking (and plastic) helmets worn by the Rangers back in both the original Mighty Morphin TV show and the 1995 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.
Overall, the designs of the Rangers helmets and costumes alike seem to strike a healthy balance between harkening back to the feel of the original Mighty Morphin franchise and giving the property’s elements a shiny makeover.
Fresh Power Rangers motion posters call further attention to these Power Rangers’ tweaked helmet designs in the film, in particular.
