20th Century Studios has acquired the rights to the film adaptation of Rosaline, based on author Rebecca Serle’s novel titled When You Were Mine, which is a modern take on the classic Shakespearean tale of Romeo and Juliet.
20th Century Studios’ Sarah Shepard will also oversee the film.
Rosaline will be directed by Karen Maine (Yes, God, Yes) from a script written by 500 Days of Summer duo Scott Neustadfer and Michael H. Weber.
The film will give a modern twist on the love story of Romeo and Juliet which will now be told through the eyes of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, a sharp but idealistic young woman—who happens to be Romeo’s recent ex.
